David John is a native of Stratford, New Zealand. In 1989 Mr. John relocated to Davie, Florida and was employed by Miller Legg & Associates, Inc. as a Project Manager. He continued his education and earned a Master of Business degree, with merit, from Nova University in 1993. A few years later, Mr. John was promoted to Senior Vice President. His responsibilities included managing all private and public sector engineering projects, as well as mitigation banking projects (which included permitting design, construction services and mitigation monitoring). In January 2004 Mr. John was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of Miller Legg. He is responsible for overall operations and growth of the firm.
Mr. John has contributed to being a leader in the industry, especially in the areas of environmental engineering and wetland mitigation banking. He has been the catalyst behind many of the firm’s innovative environmental design projects. He was one of the founding partners of Florida Wetlandsbank’s Pembroke Pines Mitigation Bank, the first public/private mitigation bank in the State of Florida.
Mr. John is registered with the State of Florida, New Zealand, Great Britain and the European Community as a Professional Engineer. He was awarded the title of European Engineer (Eur Ing) by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations. Additionally, he is a Certified Environmental Professional with the National Association of Environmental Professionals and a Professional Wetland Scientist with the Society of Wetland Scientists.
